There is something special about Stockholm in the summer. The 14 islands, the glittering sea, bars, boats and trendy restaurants affirm the 700-year-old beauty, winking at the Baltic Sea. GoTraveling shares some of our favorite restaurants in Gamla Stan, the best quarters on Södermalm and the nicest urban-nature experiences.
The brick roads, the beautiful houses and the narrow alleyways – there are so many reasons why tourists go here for strolls on a hot summer day. You must do it too. We’ll take you by the food stands – to a fantastic food treasure trove
The entrance is right by Victory Hotel. Here they serve animals, as the name, Djuret & Svinet (“The Beast & The Swine”), indicates. Big and small, cooked in every cut available (depending on the animal). Their philosophy is thoroughly organic: Some of the animals are fed by the restaurant, others by farmers with an organic stamp. During summer, Djuret closes to be replaced by Svinet, the place for a summer barbecue, where they serve pork, and by The Sanchez, their cocktail bar, that has the sky as its roof. It’s like sitting in your own private garden, though this is much more convenient – and delicious.
