Into the wild of Alaska!

Anchorage AlaskaI am taking a road trip in Alaska which I will do in three segments: Anchorage to Fairbanks, Fairbanks to Valdez, and Anchorage to Homer.

Segment one is from Anchorage to Fairbanks, this segment tracks Parks Highway. Total distance is about 360 miles plus side trips. The places of interest in this route are:  Palmer, Hatcher Pass, Wasila, Big Lake, Nancy Lake State Recreation Area, Talkeetna, Denali State Park, Hurricane Gulch, Broad Pass, Denali National Park, Wonder Lake, Nenana, and Fairbanks.

Segment two is road trip on the Kenai Peninsula, with a total of approximately 330 miles plus side trips.  This road trip starts from Anchorage and finishes in Homer.  Places in this segment are:  Anchorage, Potter Point State Game Refuge, Chugach State Park, Beluga Point, Alyska Resort, Twenty Mile River, Portage Glacier, Summit Lakes, Kenai Lake, Exit Glacier, Seward, Skilak Lake Loop Road, Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, Clam Gulch, Ninichik, Anchor Point and Homer.

Segment three follows the Richardson Highway, this is about 370 miles plus side trips.  The trip starts from Tenana River down to Valdez.  Places to be covered are:  Tenana River, Big Delta, Delta Junction, Isabel Pass Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve, Worthington Glacier, Keyston Canyon and Valdez.
